Wow! What an ending to the first leg of our Journey’s to Glory tour. All the shows have been an absolute blast, the last two in Brighton and at London’s iconic venue, The Half Moon in Putney, being extra special to me as I now live in Brighton but I grew up a Londoner.
It’s always heartwarming to see the usual familiar faces in the crowd from stage, still supporting us as we hit the road. I’m chuffed to get to see and meet new fans too. Welcome to our journey.
Big thanks to my bandmates, Sabrina Winter, Joe Bongo Becket, Jaco Norman, Luis Correia and Smiley aka the mighty Sleevz for playing their socks off every night and for being so patient with me as I miss the odd cue onstage. But I know they’ve got my back. And I’ve got theirs.
Big thanks to Simon Westbrook for jumping up on stage and channelling DB on Young Americans and to DJ Ruty Egan and DJ David Wright for warming up the rooms in London and Brum.
To Cob Becket, my tech assistant and Chris Trimby on production, front of house sound and tour management.
John Tyrrell as well as Tony and Kerry at KT Promotions for putting this tour together.
Mel Brown and Helen O’Brian at Impressive PR UK.
Brenda at Movin Music.
And the staff at The Whitty, Boileroom, Hare & Hounds, The Chinnerys, Patterns and Half Moon Putney.
Not forgetting Thorsten Winter, Liz Allen, Aysa Bourne, Julie Forsyth, Denise, Emma and Claire for your help with the merchandise.
We’re loving the vibe on this tour but it wouldn’t be so if we didn’t have the crowd’s applause and support.
For all of you who were there, you totally rocked! A massive thanks to you all and I hope to see those who couldn’t make it when we pick the tour up again in February or indeed in December for the usual Xmas shenanigans at Holborn, London.
Take good care.
Big love,
Steve xx
P.S.: A big shout out to the photographers for the fab snaps…especially Gaz de Vere, Simon Streek, Judith Lewis Bill, Jackie Summerfield and all fans that provided pix and footage.
